Question of the Week

What is the Pet Adoption program?

To learn about Pet Adoption at the college, Team Matters met with Melissa Hayden, lead coordinator for the Veterinary Technician program, and Zorro, one of 20 dogs up for adoption.

The Veterinary Technician program at Madison College can help Madison College staff, students and the greater community add a pet to your household. The Wisconsin Student Association of Veterinary Technicians partners with several area animal shelters to provide pet adoption services at our Truax campus.

All of the animals are spayed or neutered. Dogs are tested for heartworm disease and are current on routine vaccinations, and cats are vaccinated for distemper and upper respiratory disease. Adoption fees go directly to the shelter from which the animal came.

The Veterinary Technician Program will open its doors for adoptable pet visitation Monday, Oct. 9. Come and meet the pets that are available for adoption during open visiting hours.
