Team Matters spoke with Mike Stark, director of Facilities, about the Facility Master Plan. The college completed a Facility Master Plan in 2009. That plan lead to the successful $133.8 million referendum in Nov. 2010 and all new district-wide construction, remodeling and maintenance work the college has seen over the last seven years.
The work identified in the last Master Plan is essentially complete and now the Facilities Planning and Investment Council will begin the process to update a new Facility Master Plan to guide construction and remodeling across the college and create big picture guidelines for the next 10 years.
A college work team that includes college leadership, the Facilities Planning and Investment Council (FPIC), deans, faculty and students has begun the process of updating the college’s Ten-Year Facility Master Plan. With the assistance of Plunkett Raysich Architects, the workgroup will assess current facilities, including regional campuses, to determine how the college can best meet upcoming and future needs of students. A final plan will be submitted to the Board for approval in 2018.
