Trio earns postseason honors for WolfPack men

Three sophomore members of the Madison College men's soccer team received postseason accolades for their impressive work during the 2017 season.

First team All-North Central Community College Conference and All-Region IV honors went to midfielder/forward Toby Andrews and midfielder Casey Risch, while Jake Andrews was named second team for both.

WolfPack women fall 2-0 in opening game of national tournament

The number five seed, Madison College Women's Soccer team fell, 2-0, to number 4 seed, Delta College, from University Center, Michigan, in their first national tournament game in program history.

The loss means the WolfPack will play number eight seed, Nassau Community College, from Garden City, New York, in the 10 a.m. game Nov. 10.

In memoriam: Alan Larson

Alan F. Larson, age 74, entered into eternal life on Oct. 31. He retired from Madison College in 2002 as the Director of Information Technologies with 18 years of service.

Memorial donations may be made to the Alan Larson Scholarship Memorial established in his honor through the Madison College Foundation. 

According to his obituary, "Al’s career revolved around computer technology and he was instrumental in formulating Dane County’s computer system under Dane County’s first County Executive George Reinke, working for Dane County for 20 years. He then spent the next 18 years as the Director of Information Technology for Madison College. He was on the board of directors for the Dane County Credit Union for over 30 years, serving as chairman for 10 years.”

The Madison College women's soccer team have advanced to the program's first National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Division III Women's Soccer Championship. This year's championship is held at Panther Stadium in Dryden, New York, from Nov. 9-12.
