Accident claims life of longtime instructor

Dear Madison College Family,

With a heavy heart I share with you tragic news. Our friend and colleague, Kou Her, passed away over the weekend in an accidental drowning.

He will be deeply missed by family, students, colleagues and the Hmong community. Funeral arrangements are shared below.

During his 29 years at Madison College Kou was a full-time faculty in the School of Academic Advancement providing instruction for the high school completion programs. Kou was passionate about student success and loved serving students.

He was a devoted husband and father, kind and gentle to everyone, and loved his job serving the community. He was so looking forward to the South Campus opening.

Madison College offers an Employee Assistance Program that provides free counseling sessions.

Thank you for your prayers during this time.

Chris Vandall
Dean, School of Academic Advancement
