Madison365 interviews staff, talks Latino Youth Fair

Student Recruitment Coordinator Nicole Sandoval was interviewed by Madison365about the Latino Youth Career and College Fair Thursday, March 21. About 450 area Latino high school students took part in the fair, which shows students that higher education is attainable. The college also sponsors Asian and African American Youth Career and College Fairs throughout the year.

Anatomy/physiology Instructor Maria Fuenzalida is the new dairy and livestock educator for the Dane County UW-Extension. Fuenzalida’s appointment was recently highlighted in Hoard’s Dairyman.

Construction/remodeling Instructor Sandy Thistle will be in the summer edition of the local Girl Scouts magazine. Thistle is promoting the college’s new CampBUILD program for girls.

Truax hosts Badger State Spelling Bee

Madison College’s Mitby Theater played host to the Badger State Spelling Bee the weekend of March 17, 2019. The three top spellers are moving on to the Scripps National Spelling Bee in Maryland. The Wisconsin State Journal has more on the winners.

Neil Heinen from Madison Magazine stopped by the Truax Campus Wednesday, March 13, to interview Dr. Daniels. The cover story (which will be in the August issue) is expected to focus on Dr. Daniels’ accomplishments and the new Goodman South Campus.
