Facutly member receives appointment from Governor

Gov. Tony Evers has appointed Instructor Brenda Yaskal to the vacant district attorney position in Columbia County. Evers says “Yaskal is a seasoned criminal prosecutor who will bring more than a decade of experience with her to this important position.” You can read more about the appointment in the Portage Daily Register.

Madison College Baseball Player Marquis Reuter was recently featured in the Wisconsin State Journal. Reuter was named the MVP of the Region IV tournament and is now setting his sights on the NJCAA Division II World Series in Enid, Oklahoma.

Channel 27 News covers WolfPack baseball

The WolfPack baseball team has qualified for the NJCAA Division II World Series in Oklahoma. The team has won its last 11 games and was crowned Region IV champs this past weekend. Channel 27 has more on the WolfPack’s big win.

Update on Downtown Campus plans

The Wisconsin State Journal has an update on redevelopment plans for the Downtown Campus. Drury Southwest, which has leased the site from the college, hopes to begin construction on a 320-room hotel in July.

Dr. Daniels speaks with State Journal

President Daniels was interviewed by the Wisconsin State Journal about a proposed state budget plan that would pump millions of additional dollars into the technical college system. Dr. Daniels says the extra money would help the college expand dual-credit course offerings for high school students and increase capacity for high-demand apprenticeship programs.

Madison365 features graduate

Madison365 has a preview story of Madison College graduate Ousman Darboe, who will speak at the Spring Commencement Friday, May 17. Darboe fled his tiny African country of Gambia and came to the United States by himself. Darboe has been very active on campus and is the student representative on the District Board.
