Media interviews construction instructor

More coverage of CampBUILD at Madison College’s Commercial Avenue Campus. The Wisconsin State Journal’s “School Spotlight” takes a closer look at the new program, which is designed to get more girls interested in the building trades. Instructor Sandy Thistle was interviewed for the story. Channel 15 is also doing a story today, Aug. 14, which is expected to air at 4 or 5 p.m. In addition, The Isthmus will have an article on CampBUILD this Thursday, Aug. 15.

Story about Goodman South Campus impact

President Daniels and Vice President Lucia Nunez did interviews Tuesday, Aug. 13 with students from the Simpson Street Free Press. The students are doing a WORT Radio story about the impact of the new Goodman South Campus. We’re told it will air Tues., Aug. 20 at 6 p.m.

Update on 100 Black Men’s Back-to-School Celebration

Madison365 has an update on the recent 100 Black Men’s Back-to-School Celebration at Madison College. Dr. Daniels is quoted in the story. About 1,500 free backpacks full of school supplies were handed out to area kids.

Madison College student becomes new "Miss Black USA"

Nursing student TeKema Balentine is the new “Miss Black USA.” Balentine took home the title last night in Washington, D.C. Vice President Lucia Nunez talked to Channel 3 about what the accomplishment means to the college. The interview is expected to air at 5/6 tonight. The story was also covered by Channel 6 (Milwaukee), Channel 15, Channel 27and Madison365.

"Backpack for Success" returns to Madison College

Lots of kids will be ready for the first day of school thanks to the 100 Black Men of Madison’s “Backpack for Success,” which took place at Madison College this past weekend. The event provided back-to-school essentials for families in need. Channel 3, Channel 15andChannel 47 covered the event.
