Astronomy instructor discusses super blue blood moon

On Wednesday, we experienced a rare trilogy of lunar events. There was a supermoon, a blue moon and a total lunar eclipse. It’s being called a super blue blood moon. The last time that happened was more than 150 years ago in 1866.

Astronomy instructor Dixie Burns has been all over the news the past few days. Burns has done interviews with Channel 15, Channel 3Channel 27, Wisconsin Radio Network and the Wisconsin State Journal about the rare lunar event.

Kenosha News mentions Madison College students

President Daniels, Steve Goldberg to discuss South Campus

President Daniels and Gift Development Specialist Steve Goldberg will discuss the new Madison College-Goodman South Campus during an upcoming interview on Channel 3’s “For the Record” show.

We’re told the episode will air Sunday, Feb. 25, at 10:30 a.m.

New York Times interviews Agricultural Equipment Technology instructor

Agricultural Equipment Technology instructor Bob Gray was interviewed by the New York Times for an article about lagging pay for farm equipment mechanics who live in rural areas.

The story features Madison College grad Matt Gies.

State Journal features Madison College in “Shifting Careers” series

Kerri Kliminski, interim associate dean of nursing, sent program information to the Wisconsin State Journal for its “Shifting Careers” series. This will be the fifth time Madison College has been featured in the series.

The story is set to run the first week of February.

Marketing instructor and retail expert Betty Hurd was interviewed by Channel 27 for a story about the rash of brick-and-mortar store closings.

The report also aired on TV stations in Rhinelander and Beaumont, Texas.
