Jon Pollack on the life of David Bowie

The legendary musician and artist, David Bowie, died on Sunday, Jan. 10. He was 69 years old.

Madison College pop culture expert Jon Pollack did a live studio interview with Wisconsin Public Radio about the influential singer and songwriter on Monday, Jan. 11.

Channel 3 airs editorial on "Madison Promise"

Channel 3’s editorial director is giving the “thumbs up” to President Daniels for the college’s initiative to help low-income students with tuition.

The TV station’s editorial on the “Madison Promise,” aired Thursday, Jan. 7.

Math instructor's Powerball odds report getting media attention

Math instructor Paul Peeder’s Powerball odds story is getting a lot of media attention. The report, which was featured on Channel 27, also aired on TV stations in Milwaukee and Wausau.

Saturday’s Powerball jackpot is estimated to be a record $800 million.

Madison College's policy on hoverboards

They were this year’s hot Christmas gift, but should hoverboards be allowed on college campuses? A growing number of institutions are banning the devices due to fire concerns.

"Madison Promise" initiative in the news

On Thursday, Jan. 7, the Wisconsin State Journal ran a front page article about the free tuition program. The Wisconsin State Journal talked to President Daniels, Senior Vice President Keith Cornille and Foundation CEO Tammy Thayer about the "Madison Promise".

On Wednesday, Jan. 6, the "Madison Promise" initiative was Channel 3’s and Fox 47’s top news story.

The "Madison Promise", a privately funded program at Madison College, will assist low-income high school students with tuition and fees.

Media pursues west side campus story

President Jack Daniels and Vice President Mark Thomas talked to Channel 27 about the future of the college’s west side campus.

The story was also featured on Channel 3/Fox 47.

Proposals for the new west side site will be presented to the College Board in March. The lease for the current site ends in June.

Capital Times interviews President Daniels and Keith Cornille about the Madison Promise

Dr. Keith Cornille, senior vice president of student development and success, was interviewed by the Capital Times about a privately-funded program that would pay for two years of qualifying students’ tuition and fees.

The program will be called the Madison Promise. According to the article, President Jack Daniels added: "We’re going to make it happen by spring 2017."

Madison College featured on front page of Sunday's Wisconsin State Journal

Madison College was part of a front page story in Sunday’s Wisconsin State Journal that took a closer look at manufacturing in Wisconsin.

Denise Reimer, dean of Applied Science, Engineering, and Technology, was interviewed for the article – which was continued in the business section of the paper.
