Carola Pfortner discusses how to beat Valentine's Day blues

Valentine's Day can be a day to spend on your significant other, but the holiday can bring on the blues for some. Dr. Carola Pfortner went on Channel 15 yesterday at 11 a.m. for a live studio interview on how to stay positive throughout the day. She was also interviewed by Channel 27.

State Journal highlights nursing program in 'Shifting Careers' series

Kerri Kliminski, interim associate dean of nursing, sent career/program information to the Wisconsin State Journal for its “Shifting Careers” series. The nursing story is now posted on the web and will run in the paper this Sunday. This is the fifth time Madison College has been featured in the series.

Melissa Hayden introduces Pet of the Week

Airing at 6:15 this morning, Melissa Hayden introduced the Pet of the Week, Demi, on Channel 15's morning show.

Demi loves people and gets along with most dogs. She also gets along with cats.

Channel 3 visits Truax for Free Dental Care for Kids event

Channel 3 stopped by the “Free Dental Care for Kids” event at the Truax Campus Dental Clinic. Instructor Sue Kloosterboer was interviewed for the story. Friday marked the third day last week that the dental hygienist program has performed the free dental work. The story aired Feb. 9 at 5, 6, and 10 p.m.

Madison’s top spellers will be competing Saturday in the All-City Spelling Bee at Madison College’s Mitby Theater. The event gets underway at 10 a.m.

Agriculture instructor discusses Fountain Prairie Education Farm

Agriculture instructor Randy Zogbaum was interviewed by Farm Report host Pam Jahnke about the opening of the Fountain Prairie Education Farm near Fall River.

The college intends to use a portion of the farm as a classroom/laboratory for ag-related programs and professional development classes.

No word yet on when the radio interview will air.
