College chef interviewed by Wisconsin Public Radio

Chef and Dining Room Manager Brad Kahn shared some helpful tricks for hosting hungry family and friends on Wisconsin Public Radio. Kahn recommends how to plan a full-course meal, delegate duties to guests and the do’s and don’ts of bringing a dish to the party. The interview aired Friday, Dec. 21.

Marketing/Social Media instructor interviewed

Marketing/social media instructor Steve Noll was on WIBA Radio Tuesday for a report about Russia’s disinformation campaign during the 2016 election.

Meanwhile, Noll did a live studio interview with Channel 3 at 6:15 a.m. Wednesday on how cell phones are tracking your location. A second interview about tightening your social media security will air the first week of January on Channel 3.

Wisconsin Radio Network also talked to Noll Monday afternoon about a new report on Russian disinformation during the 2016 election.

Madison College District Board Trustee Ananda Mirilli is featured in the Cap Times and Madison365. Mirilli is running for a seat on the Madison School Board this spring. She wants to focus on the opportunity gap and school safety.

Channel 3 reports on STEM Academy partnership

Madison College’s new STEM Academy partnership with the Madison Metropolitan School District is getting some attention. Channel 3 stopped by the Truax Campus Wednesday to learn about the dual enrollment program that’s designed to get more high school students interested in STEM careers. STEM Center Director Kevin Mirus was interviewed for the story, which was scheduled to air at 4, 5, 6 and 10 p.m.

Trustee Ananda Mirilli takes on additional role

Madison College District Board Trustee Ananda Mirilli is the new president of the Latino Education Council.

Mirilli told Madison365 that she’s “looking forward to working with local Dane County officials in the education system to enhance our Latino youths and their families’ experiences.”

Community College Entrepreneurship highlights Madison College

Provost Turina Bakken, Associate Vice President Bryan Woodhouse and Small Business Entrepreneurship instructor Jill Huizenga were interviewed for a story in the fall/winter issue of Community College Entrepreneurship that highlights the college’s efforts to increase entrepreneurship in the district.
