Grant provides career training to dual enrollment students

Madison College received a $98,242 Fast Forward Dual Enrollment Grant to so high school and Middle College students can obtain training for careers in culinary arts, information technology and industrial maintenance. The Department of Workforce Development grant will support up to 60 students.

Madison College will collaborate with nine school districts and the Workforce Development Board of South Central Wisconsin to provide the training. Successful students will gain certification in ProStart (Culinary Arts), CompTIA A+ Computer Essentials, or the Basic Industrial Power Embedded Technical Diploma.

Six Wisconsin technical colleges received $592,813 in grants that will benefit at least 328 high school students across the state. Dual enrollment programs provide students the opportunity to earn college credit and learn valuable skills while still in high school, a cost and time saver for Wisconsin families.
