College welcomes first Scholars of Promise

More than 200 students and their parents attended the welcome reception for the inaugural cohort of Scholars of Promise, a new initiative that provides funds to meet financial needs for talented students and surrounds them with services to help them succeed. President Jack Daniels assured the students they will be supported throughout their career at Madison College. Dr. Ketih Cornille, senior vice president Student Development and Success, told them they are the future leaders of the college.

The Scholars will attend a Learn to Learn camp this month and begin classes with other Madison College students on August 28.

The Capital Times covered the welcome event and spoke with several students.
