Madison College will host various exhibitors Tuesday, March 6, for a Health and Wellness Fair in the Truax Atrium Café from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. More than 30 health and wellness companies will conduct demonstrations, screenings and offer resources for students and employees including massage, aromatherapy, acupuncture, health insurance, nutrition, fitness and hands-only CPR.
Sponsored by Student Health Education, there will be multiple Madison College programs attending including: Medical Assisting, Recreation Management, Optometric Services, Veterinary Tech, Dental Assisting, Counseling, Financial Wellness-Risk and Insurance Club, Student Senate, Fitness and Recreation, Continuing Education, EMS/Paramedic, Simulation Center, and the Child and Family Center.
Area businesses and organizations expected to be present at the Health Fair include Big Brothers Big Sisters, Gildas Club, Trek Bikes/BCycle, Journey for Mental Health, Biomats for Autism, American Diabetes Association, American Red Cross, Troy Farm/Community Groundworks, Rape Crisis Center, and Laerdel Medical and Pulse Point, WPS Insurance, GHC Insurance, WDC Wisconsin Deferred Compensation, ETF Employee Trust Funds Financial Fitness Program, Family Service Madison and MC Employee Wellness.
Also present will be the Group Health Cooperative Wellness Team consisting of massage therapists, aromatherapists, acupuncturists, dieticians and naturopaths.
