Give the gift of life at the Madison College Blood Drive Tuesday, Nov. 28, at Truax Campus from 10:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. in Room D1630B.
The American Red Cross must collect nearly 14,000 blood donations every day for patients at approximately 2,600 hospitals across the country and although an estimated 38 percent of the U.S. population is eligible to donate blood at any given time, less than 10 percent of that eligible population actually do each year.
Between Thanksgiving and New Year’s Day, many regular donors delay giving due to holiday activities and travel. This often decreases the amount of donated blood available for patients. With the busy holiday season approaching, Madison College and the American Red Cross encourages donors to give blood now to help ensure a sufficient supply for patients this winter.
Call 1-800-RED CROSS (1-800-733-2767) or visit the Red Cross website for more information. The college’s sponsor code is “MATC Madison.”
