Convocation Becomes College Community Days

Convocation is now College Community Days. Mark your calendars for the start of the school year event on August 27-28.

College Community Days will be a series of engagement and professional development opportunities for employees throughout the year. More information will be coming on future events. For now, here is a glance at the August schedule:

Tuesday, August 27

7:45-8:30          Food and Reconnections, Gateway Atrium, Cafeteria, and D1630

8:45-10:00        Welcome Back and Strategic Direction, Mitby Theater

10:15-11:00      Breakout Session

11:15-12:00      Breakout Session

12:00-12:45      Lunch (on your own)

12:45-1:30        Breakout Session

1:45-3:15          Provost’s Address - Turina Bakken, Mitby Theater

3:15-4:00          Celebration with a snack, Gateway atrium

Wednesday, August 28

8:30-12:00        School and department meetings

12:00-12:30      Lunch (on your own)

12:30-4:00        Volunteering – Community Service Day

                           Department and school meetings if needed

Thursday/Friday, August 29-30

August’s college-wide community service day will be held on Wednesday, August 27 between 12:30 and 4:00 p.m. (specific times vary by opportunity).There are opportunities for 200 volunteers. This is a great way for employees to engage and support the communities where our students and families live and work. For those who cannot volunteer in August, there will be another opportunity during October College Community Days.
