Business Technology faculty, Kristyn Jacobson and Diane Kosharek, recently authored a Microsoft Office 2016 textbook in coordination with instructors from the Indiana University Kelly School of Business.
The Your Office for Microsoft Office 2016 series prepares students to use both technical and soft skills inthe real world. The technical content is woven into realistic business scenarios and focuses on using Microsoft® Office as a decision-making tool.
The Your Office series features a unique running business scenario that connects all of the cases together and exposes students to using Office to solve problems relating to business areas like finance and accounting, production and operations, sales and marketing.

For this quick Question of the Week, the Matters team shows our readers how easy it is to submit stories to the our newsletter. (If you're in an office setting, you can watch this video on mute.)
1. Click the "Submit Your Story" button at the lower right corner of the main Matters page.
2. Enter your basic information (name, email and phone number).
3. You may write or copy and paste your story into the field below, under "Story Information." You also may attach your story to the submission as a Word document. This is recommended if you want to incorporate specific formatting.
4. In the "Additional Comments/Questions" section, give us guidelines so we know how best to help you and your story. You can use this field to suggest other stories for the Matters team.
(Note: We strongly suggest attaching images to your story, but it is not required!)
After we receive your submissions, we edit grammar and style according to the Associated Press Stylebook. We also reorganize content, prioritizing the most important information at the top of the article and moving general or background information towards the end.
Please try to keep submissions fewer than 250 words. Submissions about events should be sanctioned by or otherwise benefit Madison College. The content of submissions should be directed to Madison College faculty and staff.
We hope this encourages some of our readers to start submitting content to Matters and clarifies the process for others!

Alcohol and other drugs impact some students’ lives and diminish their academic performance. Faculty have significant power to change students’ lives when these issues arise.
Please review the attached PDF, which outlines a range of faculty actions that can lead to healthier choices among their students.
Many students return to school after entering recovery from alcohol and other drug dependence. "Live Free" is a student group on campus built to support students in recovery, as part of a wellness initiative across the nation.
Live Free meets at Truax on Mondays at 4:30 p.m. in D1618N in the Student Development Center. For more information, Patrick Kempfer, the club’s student leader, has developed a presentation describing the movement and student club.
Consider inviting John Boyne or Patrick Kempfer to your class to talk to your students about these issues.
