Dental Assistant students support Gilda's Club

Students in the Dental Assistant program are seeking monetary donations to help them cover the costs of a service learning/volunteer opportunity they will participate in to benefit Gilda's Club, a community support group for cancer patients and their families in Madison.

The students will help to make and serve a spaghetti dinner and give an oral health presentation on proper flossing, brushing teeth and nutrition for the members of Gilda’s Club, Tuesday, July 17, and will be outside of Student Life at Madison College’s main Truax building on Thursday, June 21 from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. to share information about the club and the service learning/volunteer opportunity they will be facilitating.

Monetary donations of any amount would be appreciated and can be dropped off at the front desk in the Madison College Dental Clinic located in the Health Education Building.

Gilda’s Club provides a safe, judge-free environment where cancer patients and their families can share stories and feelings, ask questions, go to educational lectures/workshops and attend socials with other families that share the same story.

For more information, visit the Gilda’s Club website or contact Chris Traeder, Dental Assisting instructor, at 608-616-1055 or Denise Holin, Student Health educator.
