Buyers, cost center managers, technology services personnel and staff involved with purchasing and contracts are invited to attend "Software Licensing 101," Tuesday, March 13, from 1-4 p.m., in Room D1630BC.
Presenters Ceotrid Gilbert and Andrea Welch from the State of Wisconsin Department of Administration and Bureau of Procurement will cover these topics:
- What is a software license?
- Types of licenses
- Who's involved with licensing?
- Conducting your due diligence
- What's in the fine print?
Usually this is an eight-hour class, but it has been condensed into a three-hour seminar for the Madison College Tech Academy audience.
"Individuals who attend this presentation will gain a lot of insight into understanding contracts," said DeAnne Pasold, member of the Tech Academy Committee.
