Mentors sought for Danish students

The Center for International Education and the School of Professional and Continuing Education at Madison College seek mentors for a one-week program with students from the International Business College in Denmark. The Danish students will be coming to Madison as part of a study abroad program.

To expose them to life in the United States, mentors are needed to interact with the Danish students and help expose them to the culture found in Madison. This is makes a big difference in helping the Danish students learn about daily life for Americans.

Mentor families agree to participate in a welcome reception, host two or three students for one Friday night dinner and join in closing dinner and celebrations.  All mentoring activities will occur from Sunday, Oct. 1, through Saturday, Oct. 7. Interested individuals should contact the Center for International Education or download a request form for further information.

Schedule for the week will be as follows:

  • Welcome reception from 5 to 7:30 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 1, at the Pyle Center
  • Mentor hosts a dinner for Danish students on Friday, Oct. 6
  • Join students for a closing dinner and reception on Saturday, Oct. 7, at 5 p.m. at the Truax Campus
