Cybersecurity program earns national honor

The U.S. Department of Homeland Security and the U.S. National Security Agency have designated Madison College as a National Center of Academic Excellence in Cyber Defense Education.

Only two Wisconsin two-year colleges earned the designation. The list of 272 Centers across the country includes the U.S Naval Academy, The Citadel, and the U.S. Air Force Academy. Designated two-year, four-year and graduate level institutions must meet stringent criteria. Madison College’s Cybersecurity Specialist associate degree program prepares graduates to address the critical shortage of professionals with cybersecurity skills.

“Information Technology Instructors Mike Masino and Mike Belton ensure that the college’s cybersecurity program is relevant, current and responds to the ever-evolving needs of district employers,” said Denise Reimer, executive dean of the School of Applied Science, Engineering and Technology.
