Writing instructor publishes mystery novel

Joy Ribar, School of Academic Advancement writing instructor, published her first mystery novel, "Deep Dark Secrets," Book 1 of the Deep Lakes Mystery Series.

Set in a fictional Wisconsin tourist town, the book tells the story of Frankie Champagne, a baker and vineyard owner, who is selling her goods at a bakery/wine lounge. When a local pastor is found dead inside his ice fishing shanty, she decides to investigate, getting herself into sticky situations.

The public is invited to the launch event for the novel, which will be June 22 from 1-6 p.m. at Fawn Creek Winery, Wisconsin Dells.  Joy will be on hand to sign books, read from the novel and take part in a Q and A. Visit for more details.
