Roxanne Zetzman, former manager of Enrollment Operations

Faculty and staff make charitable fund for Roxanne Zetzman

August 20, 2014

Roxanne Zetzman, former manager of Enrollment Operations, was diagnosed with breast cancer early June of this year. A charitable fund is being administered through GiveForward to give financial support that will be used solely for medical costs associated with Roxanne’s current medical condition.

The training sessions will take a look at interest based problem solving and shared governance and how to use the IBPS process.

One-hour and three-hour Interest Based Problem Solving (IBPS) awareness sessions have been scheduled for this fall. IBPS is the decision-making process used by the Contract Alternative Committee.

College services will be closed half-day for staff to participate in Convocation.

College services closes half-day Aug. 26 for Convocation

To allow for staff participation in Convocation, all Madison College services and offices will be closed from 7:30 a.m.-noon on Aug. 26. If a student needs assistance during Convocation, the Truax Enrollment Center will have a few staff members available to offer in-person services.

Wisconsin Dairy Product Association donates to Madison College

The Wisconsin Dairy Product Association has announced that in addition to the products that they donate to the college after the World Dairy Expo Championship Dairy Product contest, they will give Madison College a $2,500 annual donation for the Culinary program.

On Wednesday, Aug. 20, former Public Relations and Communications intern Stephanie Beirne Leuer won a free Social Media class given by the Social Media Breakfast and Madison College.

The Madison College Honors Program recognizes students in the academic community.

Honors Faculty Workshop schedule for fall 2014

Students will begin enrolling in the Madison College Honors Program this semester. In order to participate, faculty members must complete the Honors Faculty Workshop. Registration for workshops can be found on the CETL website.

Criminal Justice Chair Brian Landers is back in the news. Brian talks to Channel 3 about the use of armored vehicles by police. Since the situation in Ferguson, protesters and some local groups have criticized police departments who use the vehicles.

On Tuesday more than 400 cheeses and butters were taste-tested by 38 judges.
